@title Our Commitment to Accessibility Capstone creates digital products that help kids succeed by making learning fun. With a mission to set every child on a path to lifelong reading, we work to ensure that students of all abilities have the opportunity to successfully learn with our products. We strive to meet <a href= https://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG/ target=blank>Web Content Accessibility Guidelines</a> 2.2 Level AA, Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, and EN 301 549 by Dec 31, 2024. We continue to make improvements and updates to PebbleGo, PebbleGo Next, Capstone Interactive, Create, and Capstone Connect in an ongoing effort to make our products as accessible as possible. Please see our Accessibility Compliance Reports below for more information. @title Our Mission and Action We are dedicated to making Capstone a leader in educational experience, and a critical part of that is accessibility. That’s why we have adopted the internationally recognized <a href= https://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG21/ target="_blank">Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)</a> standards as a benchmark for our web pages and digital products. Below you’ll find some of the ways we incorporate accessibility into our Capstone culture: * Provide training for our employees on how to make our products accessible to all. * Conduct regular accessibility testing of all products and services to continue to enhance our offerings for all customers. * Inject accessibility practices and testing throughout the product delivery lifecycle with resources dedicated to accessibility remediation and improvements. * Strive to ensure our products are WCAG 2.2 AA, Section 508, and EN 309 549 compliant and report on our status annually. @h5 Key Accessibility Features See below for examples of how Capstone’s products are designed for usability, especially with early learners in mind: <strong>Site Navigation</strong> * Simplified information architecture with predictable navigation * Access keys for keyboard-only navigation * Responsive layout with zoom options <strong>Text & Readability</strong> * Large fonts (at least 14pts) * Read aloud: text-to-speech option with highlighting * Left-aligned and short line-sweeps for optimal readability * Simple, Sans Serif fonts ideal for users with dyslexia * Body and title fonts that use the pedagogical “bat and ball letter ‘a’” * Off-white background to reduce eyestrain while reading * Alternative text and descriptive titles for meaningful images * Transcripts for videos * Screen reader support <strong>User Interface Design</strong> * Foreground/Background contrast ratios of at least 4.5:1 for users with low visibility * Consistent color use and location for all Utility & CTAs * Skeuomorphic or “3D” design of buttons to give a real-world sense of depth and intuitive use * Buttons with tap targets at least 44px for users with low motor skills * Optional Hover & Click animations and sound effects used as both an engagement mechanic and to reinforce “Cause and Effect” relationships, while providing feedback to the user If you have questions or feedback on Capstone’s product accessibility, we want to hear from you!
