Meet the Team: Mackenzie Jones
Name: Mackenzie Jones
Role: Senior Direct Sales Representative
Years at Capstone: 11
Favorite part of working at Capstone: The people who work here genuinely care about kids and educators, and want to do the right thing for them. That makes for a very positive and collaborative workplace! I love the times when I get to go out and visit schools and see our books in the hands of kids. As a former teacher, nothing gives me more joy!
How does your role support PebbleGo users? I work directly with media specialists, principals, and district coordinators to support PebbleGo usage! My customers know if they have any questions or suggestions for new articles, they can come right to me. As I work with the customer service team and product development teams directly, I find an answer very quickly!
Favorite article within PebbleGo: Frida Kahlo. My older daughter read a biography of Frida Kahlo, which made my (then) 5-year-old daughter want to know more about her too! I was very happy to be able to pull up the PebbleGo article for her and she loved showing big sister the video of Frida’s house.
Favorite Capstone book/series: How can I choose? Can I just say ALL of them? I love the Little Boost series, especially Miles McHale, Tattletale. And our titles by Bao Phi, A Different Pond and My Footprints, are absolutely beautiful.
Family: My husband Adam and I have been married for 12 years, and we have two daughters, Evie (9) and Naomi (6). My husband is a 5th generation corn and soybean farmer in southern Minnesota, so we keep plenty busy between the kids’ activities and the farm!
Pets: We have a golden retriever named Rosie, a cat named Ole, and a betta fish named Raptor.
Favorite US state apart from the one you live in: We took our kids out to the Black Hills of South Dakota this past summer and had an amazing time. I also attended college in Sioux Falls, so South Dakota is probably my number two state, after Minnesota.
Favorite thing to do on the weekend: I love when we can get away as a family even for a few hours, and go somewhere to just be together. Whether that’s going for a walk around a park, out to a movie or dinner, or to visit family members – those are my favorite times!
