54 New PebbleGo & PebbleGo Next Articles to Release in October
We are excited to announce that on October 28th, we will be adding 54 new articles between PebbleGo and PebbleGo Next. 15 articles will be coming to PebbleGo in both English and Spanish to Biographies/Biografías, and 39 articles in Biographies, Science and Social Studies will be available for PebbleGo Next.* Below is the complete list of the newly added articles including a description of the various biographies being added.

Biographies/Biografías
- Anna May Wong - first Chinese American Hollywood star. She is known for breaking barriers in film at a time when Asian characters were usually played by white actors wearing makeup.
- Carter G. Woodson - Known as the "Father of Black History," he was a Black historian and author. He advocated for Black history to be taught in schools. Black History Month stems from his ideas.
- Graham Greene - Indigenous (Oneida) Canadian actor. He has appeared in television and movies and received an Academy Award nomination for his role in Dances with Wolves.
- Indra Nooyi - Indian American business leader who served as the CEO of PepsiCo and consistently ranks as one of the most powerful women in business.
- Jessica Watkins - NASA astronaut and geologist. She was the first Black woman to be on an extended mission to the International Space Station. She was also chosen to be part of a future mission to fly to the moon and set up a base camp to live and work there.
- Jovita Idar - Mexican American journalist who worked for equal rights for women and Mexican Americans. She also worked as a nurse during the Mexican American War, as a Spanish translator, and started a free kindergarten program.
- Joy Harjo - Muscogee writer and musician who served as the first Indigenous Poet Laureate of the United States. Her work explores ideas about belonging, home, memory, and Indigenous myths.
- Kizzmekia Corbett - scientist who led the team that developed a vaccine for COVID-19 in 2020. She was named one of TIME Magazine's "Heroes of the Year" in 2021 for her work and works as a professor at Harvard University.
- Mabel McKay - Pomo artist and traditional healer. She became well-known for her baskets and for preserving Pomo traditions.
- Nainoa Thompson - modern-day navigator who uses ancient Polynesian wayfinding methods that don't rely on technology. His work is helping to revitalize traditional Hawaiian navigational techniques.
- Nikola Tesla - scientist from Croatia who invented a kind of electricity called alternating current (AC), which is still used today. He held over 300 patents, and his work influenced the development of X-rays, TVs, and radios.
- Robert Smalls - born into slavery, took over a Confederate ship, and sailed it to freedom. Once free, he became a businessman and politician who represented South Carolina in the House of Representatives.
- Shohei Ohtani - Major League baseball player from Oshu, Japan. In 2021, he threw 156 strikeouts and had 15 home runs. Ohtani was the first Japanese player in the Home Run Derby.
- Terry Fox - Canadian athlete and humanitarian. He lost his right leg to cancer and ran 3,000 miles in 143 days to raise awareness for cancer research.
- Zitkála-Šá - Indigenous musician, writer, and activist. She was Yankton Sioux and became the first Indigenous person to write an opera. She also fought for the rights of Indigenous people and co-founded the National Council of American Indians.

- A. Philip Randolph - civil rights activist and organizer who founded the first Black union in the United States. He worked with Dr. King to plan the March on Washington and won the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1964.
- Betty White - Emmy award-winning actress who remained active through her nineties. Her work paved the way for other female entertainers. White also used her platform to advocate for animal rights.
- Dolly Parton - American musician and businesswoman who is known for her iconic country and pop music. She is also known for her advocacy and philanthropy.

- Meta Warrick Fuller - Black sculptor during the Harlem Renaissance. Her career lasted more than 70 years, and her art reflected African themes and folktales, women's rights, and racism.
- Prince - American singer and musician who created a blend of R&B, punk, new wave, jazz, and rock 'n' roll. He was nominated for 38 Grammy Awards, won seven times, and released 39 studio albums.
